After sleeping for a total of about 2 hours last night, I decided to hit the gym at 6 in the morning. It was the only time that I could go today. Plus, I wanted to try this new spinning class offered at my gym. Actually, it was just a new instructor. Her name was Becky and that was the last time I took her class.
Becky didn’t think that it was necessary to play any music while instructing the class. Instead, she used her rather terrifying voice to get us going. Us being me and four girls, who were all asked to sit in the front row. This worked out nicely for Becky as she was able to criticize each and every one of us in person. At one point she got off her bike, stood next to me, and asked why I even came to class if I wasn’t willing to work hard. This was my one chance to get results and I was too lazy to work for them. I was considering to walk out of class but thought it might be kind of rude.
I should have left. Within 20 minutes (60 minute class) all the girls had left. It was just Becky and I. She pretty much left her bike for good and stood next to me for the remainder of the class. A sad highlight was when Becky yelled at me in somewhat questioning tone, inquiring why I hadn’t seen the hill. She was going to tell me when I had made it to the top of the hill.
I am never taking another Friday morning spinning class from Becky. As a matter of fact, I am never going to the gym on a Friday morning again.
