ficus benjamin

This three day weekend was rough on me. It's really not as easy as one thinks to constantly move to new places and start all over. By the time Sunday rolled around, I had pretty much ran out of self entertainment ideas. I considered heavy drinking or getting a cat, but then opted against both. But I did order a plant to start caring for. It's time for me to plant some roots and settle down. It's a Ficus Benjamin. My mum had one when I was a little kid. Tomorrow is my last day in the office this week, then I am going off to a four-day managment retreat to a place called Skamania lodge in Washington. I have to give two presentations at the retreat, so there is work to be done between all the fun and games. Or maybe I am just completely mistaken about this whole offsite meeting concept. Then I probably shouldn't call it a retreat either. Then next week, I will be in SF and the OC. But it will be a quick trip, so I probably won't have much time to visit with friends and family. Oh that's right, I don't have any family in California. Next on the agenda, my boss invited me to some big benefit dinner in a couple of weeks. I'm supposed to bring a date, which I consider to be a rather impossible feat. I am not sure if a single girl outside of work even knows my name. And bringing our receptionist to a dinner with my boss probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do for me. Here's a pic of a Benjamin, very similar to how I expect mine to look in a few years. I'll keep you posted on my gardening efforts.
