After my recent sobering posts when ‘being asked back’ isn’t such a good thing
and 11 miles, 4 hours, $70
which covered my experiences of a) not passing my motorcycle skills exam and b) losing my house key during a marathon training run in Forrest Park, things have turned around a bit for me. That was last week. This week is this week. And it's time for a redemption post.
Let's start with the motorcycle business. Yesterday afternoon, I, alongside with a few World War II veterans, a couple of robust lady baby boomers and a pubertal high school princess came together at Swan Island to take the Team Oregon Motorcycle Skills Test. Again. And with the exception of the lady who almost set her motorcycle on fire when trying to come to a stop, we all passed.
Since some of my peers took this test for the fourth of fifth time, there was a quite a bit of celebrating going on at that Swan Island Parking Lot right around 4:30pm yesterday. Now I just need to pass my written Oregon Driver's License test and I will be on my Scooter in no time at all.
So, you're asking "what does that have to do with the key you lost in Forrest Park?" That's right. I found it. Well, technically my friend Adam found it on our 12-miler this morning at 8am.
Life is good people. Life is good.
