spaghetti and soccer

On Wednesday, I am throwing a big Spaghetti party for a bunch of work people. Officially, it's an off-site new media brainstorm. Truthfully, it's the first dinner party that I am throwing where people don't have to bring their own food and/or my parents aren't working away in the kitchen. But I am not telling anyone that. I ordered a bunch of kitchen supplies (knives, pots, pans, wine glasses, etc.) from Amazon, and of course, my order got delayed. After having our receptionist promise me that this isn't some sort of company-wide conspiracy, I spent 20 minutes today looking for Amazon's customer service number. Don't get me wrong. Despite Amazon's slip up, I continue to be a die-hard fan. And after all, who says that our receptionist is telling the truth. Regardless, Wednesday is going to be a blast. The wine glasses arrived today, so everybody can at least get drunk. Well, technically not everybody. I only ordered six glasses and am expecting about twelve people. In retrospect, I should have thought about some sort of Japanese theme and everybody could just sit and eat on the floor. Because last I checked, I only own three chairs and a table the size of a cutting board. Planning really has never been my strong suit. On a much more pleasant note, I scored my max two goals tonight. Nevermind that my team lost 2:7 and I got temporarily ejected for knocking some kid into the wall. I did what I could. Good night.
