german kitchen: D in babbling on March 15, 2007 March 15, 2007 with 1 Comment Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email D is one of my favorite foods here in Germany, even though it’s not really German. It’s a Turkish fast food that was actually invented in its current format by a Turkish immigrant in Berlin. Bread, lamb, salad, onions, tomatoes and a zatziki-like sauce. A D costs about $3 and is available on every street corner. With the exception of the traditional Currywurst, D has grown to be Germany’s most popular fast food. If you’re ever in Germany, I’ll be happy to point you to my favorite D spots.
