friends at work

Last night, one of the first clients in my current job came to town to discuss this year’s campaign. It’s a privately-published book that is currently being made into a movie. When we first started working with this client, they were one of two clients. Today we have upwards of twenty clients, some of which are very large companies. Either way, the relationship with this client has continued to blossom and is growing to become more and more of a friendship. Which brings me to the morale of this entry.

Collectively, we spend a lot of our days and lives with our co-workers, clients and vendors. While there always needs to be a professional relationship, I truly believe that by building and maintaining meaningful connections or even friendships, the work gets better, motivation grows and time flies. I’ll revisit this entry in a few years to see if I am completely off on this one.

I think you’re a bit off. I haven’t had a full day of productivity in months and I often steel change and breath-mints from your desk…I’m just saying:)
