MARATHON TRAINING

Let me talk a bit about my marathon training today. It has been terrible. Terrible to say the least… There is absolutely no focus and running seems to be far down my priorities’ list right now. This is the first time in my life that I really have not been to concentrate on my work outs. I think for the past 5 years, personal fitness has been a huge part of my persona. Well, now for the first time it isn’t and that right in the middle of my first marathon training. Great…

Usually people really get in shape throughout their training process. They lose weight and increase their endurance. Not me. I am gaining weight and after every run I feel more winded. As a matter of fact, I think I was in way better shape 6 weeks ago. Despite my fairly busy schedule I have not missed a day of my training yet, which is really starting to worry me. Is it just a lack of focus? Am I getting old? Can I not handle a balanced life, including work and fitness?

This weekend, I have taken a look at every aspect of my fitness and will make changes accordingly. I have 5 more weeks before the big marathon day. There is no way that I will not do it. And there is no way that I will do it and do very poorly. I have 5 more weeks to cope with this challenge. Let’s see how I fare…
