on my father’s shoulders

What sounds like a title for my first book is actually and absolutely not such. The title of this blog entry is directly correlated to how I foresee to finish the Portland marathon in just a couple of weeks. On Sunday morning my father called to inform me that for his last big training session, he just ran an entire marathon. Through a little time change calculation I determined that at such exact same time, I was just finishing up my business at a local Oktoberfest celebration. And by business, I mean bratwursts and beer. Then on Sunday I decided to match my father’s quest, which ended up being the distance equivalent of what I would call a thirdofamarathon. Both my mother and I were worried about my dad being able to finish his first marathon. Now the family is collectively worried about my dad being able to cross the finish line with me on his shoulders.
