My buddy Jerry flew down from Seattle last week. Throughout his stay in Southern California he took a shower at my apartment. And with that used my towels. Do you remember that white and blue striped towel I was standing on in the locker room of my high school gym? Seven years ago. Yeah, that is still my status quo towel. Jerry used it and now is obsessed about reminding me to upgrade my towel sortiment. I own two towels and have used them excusively for the past 7 years. That doesn’t seem to be too bad. You can’t grow out of a towel and it’s not like I have a family to supply with towel space. Regardless, I might bite into the sour apple and buy a new towel. Or, I ‘ll just wait till my next hotel visit.

It’s not that they’re seven years old, it’s that they haven’t been laundered in seven years. I’m going to go to Target this weekend and buy you two bath towels.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
