I will be competing in my first triathlon this September. My 12-week training schedule will begin in June. Priority number One is to survive the one mile long ocean swim. I am still trying to decide whether to compete as a professional or amateur. Professional sounds way cooler, but I won’t be allowed to wear a wetsuit in the swimming segment. And I will come in deadlast. Competing as an Amateur…just doesn’t sound cool. Just imagine all the bragging rights that come with being a professional triathlete. This decision has been keeping me up at night.
Of course, this Triathlon training is part of my quarter life crisis therapy. Looking death right into the eye (by swimming anything more than 10 laps) will help me realize all the fortunes waiting for me outside of the pool.
